In the lead up to the 2024 Tallahassee city elections we observed a number of charges that Leon County Democratic party resources were deployed for favored candidates in races contested by Democrats. We took a look to see if there were any examples that spoke to the allegations and present rules, laws, and bylaws that speak to the issue. Also, we present our findings and offer recommendations based on our review.
This white paper only covers the primary elections. One of the races we reviewed was decided in the primary, however the other race between Democratic candidates went to the general election. We will review information from the runoff and offer an addendum if there are findings to warrant it.
